In the Footsteps of Caravaggio

Between late August and the first days of September, AIMIG hosted a group of American and Canadian Friends, led by Co-President Alessia Panella, to discover the Eternal City in the footsteps of Caravaggio. Our friend Giovanni Cotroneo was the inspiration behind this tour, which began with visits to galleries and contemporary artists, followed by viewing some of Caravaggio’s masterpieces housed at the Borghese Gallery and in several Roman churches. Giovanni and his wife Annarosa opened their home to showcase their extraordinary collection. The group was also hosted at the residence of AIMIG’s Past President, Marilena Citelli. On Sunday, they visited the Ghetto and the Jewish Museum and had lunch at an ancient kosher trattoria. In the evening, the farewell dinner took place, with a magnificent view of Rome at sunset.
