FIAC 2013 - Paris

A visit to the most important contemporary art fair in France, and one of the most significant in the world, held every year in October and forming part of the international circuit followed by collectors from across the globe in search of both emerging and established creativity. Following the program outlined below, our group visited the fair with a guided tour and toured several artists’ studios. In the evenings, we were warmly welcomed by the French Friends, who went out of their way to make us feel at home, and to whom we extend our sincere thanks.

Wednesday, October 23

Departure at 11:00 a.m. from Hôtel Trémoille, 14 rue de la Trémoille, Paris, for the preview of FIAC – Foire Internationale d’Art Contemporain, followed by continuation of the visit throughout the day.Lunch at leisure during the visit. Return to the hotel.

At 7:00 p.m., dinner at Maison Kraemer, as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Nissim de Camondo, followed by a visit to their magnificent collection of 18th- and 19th-century art objects and furniture.Return to the hotel.

Thursday, October 24

Departure at 9:45 a.m. from the hotel to 41 rue Spontini, Paris 16th arrondissement, where Patricia Landeau, Co-President of the French Friends of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, will kindly host breakfast.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., departure for Verrière-le-Buisson for a guided visit led by Soly Levy, winner of the 1st Prix de la Ville de Paris du Cercle des Gobelins et des Beaux-Arts, to the studio of Françoise Abraham, an internationally renowned artist.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., lunch included at the restaurant Jules, 8 rue de l’Église, Antony.

At around 2:30 p.m., departure for Draveil to visit the studio of Jean Soyer.Return to the hotel.

At 8:00 p.m., dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lesourd.Return to the hotel.

Friday, October 25

At 10:30 a.m., visit to the private collection of Mr. and Mrs. Setton, 60 rue de Saint-Pères, Paris 7th arrondissement, housed in their residence designed by Jacques Grange, featuring an outstanding collection of contemporary art, sculptures, and photography (including works by Damien Hirst, Andy Warhol, and Roy Lichtenstein).

At 12:00/12:30 p.m., lunch included at the restaurant Le Relais de l’Entrecôte.

At approximately 3:00/3:30 p.m., guided by Soly Levy, visit to the studio of painter Lisa Seror on rue de Grenelle.Return to the hotel.

At 8:00 p.m., dinner as guests at the residence of Denise Levy, 54 Avenue d’Iéna, Paris 16th arrondissement.Return to the hotel.

Saturday, October 26

Day at leisure. Optional guided visit to the Musée d’Orsay.
