International Council of the Israel Museum – June 2016

The major gathering event for the International Friends is the series of days dedicated to the annual meeting at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, which this year once again saw the participation of more than 200 members from 13 countries, all attending and engaging with the programs prepared for the occasion. The Director, James Snyder, supported by an outstanding staff, presented updates from the various museum wings, new acquisitions, and future programs planned through 2020. The atmosphere was highly stimulating and encouraged dialogue and the exchange of ideas among all participants. A dinner in the desert featuring grilled meats, along with camel rides, added a distinctive and colorful touch to the gathering. It was a truly inspiring moment of connection, bringing together diverse international perspectives in dialogue with the Israeli context, and revealing shared goals and tastes.
