Forty Years of Contemporary Art. Massimo Minini 1973–2013
An exhibition celebrating the life of a gallerist—Massimo Minini—who has been, and continues to be, one of the guiding lights for lovers of contemporary art. It is a tribute to his career, much as it was to that of Giorgio Marconi, the great Italian gallerist who represented Italian artists from the 1950s through the 1980s.
The exhibition brings together works that have passed through Galleria Minini, offering a true cross-section of contemporary art history told from a distinctive point of view—at times ironic and irreverent—by its leading protagonist, Massimo Minini.
It is a story marked by numerous flashbacks, in which Minini seeks to connect, justify, and recount different moments and transitions through his characteristic narrative approach, one that found a unique literary form in the Pizzini. These short fables, flashes, and stories about the artists he encountered over the years later became a successful book.
