The Venice Trip 2019 (12–15 September) was organized on the occasion of the 58th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, titled this year ‘May You Live in Interesting Times.

The trip was a great success. All 41 participants—representing six different nationalities (Brazil, Canada, Israel, Italy, the USA, and the UK)—were extremely enthusiastic about the itinerary. This was due in no small part to the active involvement of Ido Bruno, Director of the Israel Museum, and curator Mira Lapidot, who guided the group through numerous exhibitions with remarkable passion.
Among the many activities and visits—including the Biennale, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Punta della Dogana, Palazzo Grassi, and the Fondazione Emilio e Annabianca Vedova—the opportunity to meet the renowned artist Anish Kapoor at our Shabbat dinner was a wonderful surprise for everyone. The dinner was held at the evocative private residence of our President, Davide Blei, overlooking the Grand Canal.
Special thanks are due to Alessia Panella, a member of our Board, who made it possible to invite the artist and his wife, as well as Dr. Ana Luiza Thompson-Flores, Director of the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture, who kindly joined us for the dinner and the subsequent visit to the Giardini della Biennale.
We hope this success will be repeated in future editions of the trip, which each year brings together many International Friends.
Below are some photos of the group during the visits and various activities.
