Roma: the Eternal City 31st August – 3rd September

In the footsteps of Caravaggio

AIMIG hosted, between the end of August and the first days of September, a group of American and Canadian Friends that the Co-President Alessia Panella guided around the Eternal City in the footsteps of Caravaggio. Our Italian Friend Giovanni Cotroneo was the inspirer of this tour that begun with the visit to galleries and artists of Contemporary Art, followed by the tour of some of the best works of Caravaggio, spread from Galleria Borghese to roman Churches. He and his wife Annarosa opened their house to show their incredible collection. The group was hosted also by our Past President Marilena Citelli at her residence. On Sunday, they visited the Ghetto, the Jewish Museum and had lunch at a Kosher and ancient Trattoria. In the evening, the Farewell dinner took place with the fantastic view of Rome in the sunset.
